Feeding Children Everywhere is AWESOME!

This is going to be a pretty short post (with lots of pictures).  Those who know me know that I’m pretty verbose, but I’m almost at a loss for words.  It’s a pretty powerful thing indeed to see 600 or more happy, love-filled volunteers pack well over SEVENTY NINE THOUSAND meals in three one hour shifts.  I worked the boxing end of a line for one shift and we boxed 1728 meals (6 meals per packet, 48 per box).  Each ingredient is measured out, bagged, heat sealed, and boxed for shipment.  It’s like a big happy race. These guys operate on an administrative overhead of SEVEN PERCENT, putting them in the top 1% of efficient charities on the PLANET.

It’s awesome, it’s non-profit, it’s private funds, and it feeds kids the world over.  Please support them. Go to http://www.feedingchildreneverywhere.com and see what you can do to help.

The pictures show hundreds of volunteers packing meals, the great new facility FCE has, tons and tons of raw food materials, and some shots of Discovery set up as sort of a diorama of the upcoming Everglades Challenge expedition.  I’m represented by the drysuit lounging in the cockpit.  It’s my pre-caffeine look, you know…
