On the weekend of the Summer Solstice, what better place to be than sailing into the sunset of the longest day of the year? Well, 11 years ago, some people got together and came up with a neat idea… since we all can’t sail on the same body of water, why not sail AT THE SAME TIME? The results can be seen at http://www.summersailstice.com/
This year, we are going to participate in the Summer Sailstice at Lake Eustis, in west central Florida. We’ll be there as guests of the Lake Eustis Sailing Club http://www.lakeeustissailingclub.org , and we’ll be sailing others from the West Coast Trailer Sailing Squadron http://groups.yahoo.com/group/wctss/ .
We will also be bringing the Hope For Aidric sail with us, to fly, and to collect signatures upon. If you can’t join us there, join a Sailstice fleet somewhere, or register yourself on the Summer Sailstice website on whatever body of water you’ll be sailing upon that weekend, with a fleet or by yourself, and let’s see how many people worldwide we end up with!
