The centerboard slot has been faired in, and the keel line from the back of the slot up to the bow eye area has been given a layer of glass as a reinforcement strip. Speaking of bow eyes, the existing one was A GIANT STAINLESS STEEL SCREW EYE!! Good thing I planned ahead to replace it. I’ve cut a hole in the deck for a 4″ access hatch, and will install that tomorrow, along with one in each ama. With the deck curve, there will be a considerable amount of caulk used to fill the gaps, but it should be fine. Normally, I never ever use screws in fiberglass, but the access hatches are an exception, as they take little load.
No pictures today, as my cameraphone is acting up, but I’ll get some soon!
